Finally in Guatemala City, November 1963. This was the Guatmala City East District, with Dennis Taylor on the left, Allen Black fourth from the left, and my first companion, Gary Bullard, second from the right. I remember almost nothing about him, except that he was a lot of fun.
My second companion, Hugo Boren on the right, was Argentinian. He was a very hard worker and a good guy. His Argentine accent was hard for the locals to understand, and they frequently asked me to translate. My Spanish at the time was very meager so I thought that was hilarious! Elder Bodily is in the middle, and I can't remember the name of the third elder.
Elder Bodily. I'm not sure whether he indended to play with the rabbit, or cook it.
Can't remember who this was.

Our Christmas Tree. I think the lady of the house where Elder Boren and I were living fixed this up for us.
The kitchen. We didn't spend any time there because our meals where prepared by the lady of the house's maid. Blessing the food took on a new meaning. Some elders had intestinal problems, but it might have been from the food we bought on the street.
My notes say that this was an all-branch picnic. I don't know where or when. If anyone recognizes the place or anyone, please email me. I seem to remember that they were building a chapel and this had something to do with it.
This looks more like a picnic. I don't know if it was the same occasion.
Ditto. | ||
